What are the pending charges?

Pending charges are approved purchases or card pre-authorization that merchants have not yet cleared and posted to the card. When a charge is under 'Pending' status, this means:

  • The charge is going through a process in between payment networks, your trust account, and the merchant itself.

  • The amount of the pending charges will be deducted from your available credit, hence lowering your card account limit.

  • Charges will only be applicable to your card once the pending charge is posted to your balance.

How long does a pending transaction take to post?

The amount of time it takes for a payment to be posted depends on the time the merchant needs to process the payment. The pending period could be between 1-30 days.

How can I cancel a pending charge?

You can cancel a pending charge by contacting the merchants who placed the charge as the first point of contact if you wish to cancel your pending charge. Ask them to contact your card issuer and reverse the transaction. The merchant can ask for the pending charge to be released
