What is Phishing?

Phishing is a type of social engineering typically carried out by email, telephone, or text message. The attackers disguise themselves as reputable entities or businesses to lure victims to disclose sensitive data such as personal ID, banking, credit card information and passwords, etc.

What is Anti-Phishing Code?

Anti-Phishing Code is a security feature that allows users to enhance the security level of their accounts. Once the Anti-Phishing Code is enabled, you will see it on all legitimate emails sent from UTGL (See screenshot below). The code will help you distinguish authentic emails from phishing emails, thus preventing phishing attempts.

How to set up/update Anti-Phishing Code?

Set up anti-phishing code:

  1. Navigate to 'Security' under 'Account Center', then click 'Enable' in 'Anti-Phishing Code'. Once the popup appears, click 'Create Anti-Phishing Code'.

  2. Next, select your preferred Two-Factor Authentication method (Google Two-Factor Authentication or SMS Two-Factor Authentication), and enter the authentication code to enable the Two-Factor Authentication.

  3. Enter the Anti-Phishing Code you desire under the text box (4-20 non-special characters). When prompted, click 'Submit'.

  4. Finally, enter the Two-Factor Authentication Code shown on your authenticator app. Click 'Confirm', and you’re all set! (Please remember to update the Anti-Phishing Code regularly to ensure a high level of security.)

Update anti-phishing code:

  1. Navigate to 'Security' under 'Account Center', then click 'Change' in 'Anti-Phishing Code'. Once the popup appears, enter the new and old Anti-Phishing Codes into their respective boxes and click 'Confirm Change'.

  2. Enter the Two-Factor Authentication code shown on your authenticator app, click 'Confirm'.
